ladder finding

I have a big secret.  My name is Ray, and I will stop and take something out of someone’s trash if I think it is cool.  Case in point, a dirty, somewhat-falling-apart, paint-splatter/partly stained wood ladder.  Don’t worry, I quickly looked it over to see if there were any visible bugs or rotting areas.  None!  Then, I accidentally left it outside in the monsoons that were going on last week, so that helped to clean it off.

I knew when I saw it I could figure out some way to use it.  I actually first passed it, immediately knew I was making a mistake, drove around the block, parked a house away, quickly examined it among the grass clippings and other bags of miscellaneous discarded items, grabbed it and threw it into the back of the truck.  Next time I’m going to try to act less creepy.  But this is what I thought about when I saw it!

So many of these are towel holders.  I’d love to put it in the bathroom (I’ve been updating it and it could use more texture, like this.  Your know apartment bathrooms are so blah!)  We’ll see where it ends up.  For know, I’m having fun taking old blankets and throwing them over it to see what works.

Please, don’t judge me that the frames are not aligned.  It kills me, too.
